Godsey & Gibb supports Central VA Food Bank

During the period 3 May – 4 June 2010, G&G staff were challenged to raise 100lbs of non-perishable food for the Central Virginia Food Bank. The Food Bank has a greater need for food donations during the summertime as they supply meals to children who, ordinarily, would receive subsidized or free meals at school.

Godsey & Gibb matched the 120 lbs of food collected by staff, with a $120 donation to the Food Bank.

As $1 feeds 5 people for one meal, and 1lb will feed one person one meal, our food drive and our donation means that we supplied 720 meals during the summer.

During 2010, five of our staff members will be celebrating their longevity at Godsey & Gibb. They are:

Stacy Dodson 20 Years
Bill Garrison 16 Years
 Frank Gibb 25 Years
Ephraim Ulmer 18 Years
Pat Wilmore 13 Years

During the period 9 – 30 November, G&G staff were challenged to raise 100lbs of non-perishable food for the Central Virginia Food Bank.

To honor the spirit of the holiday season, Godsey & Gibb participated in a food drive to benefit the Central VA Food Bank. Our goal was to collect as many pounds of food as number of total years worked by all current staff. This was about 90 years but we rounded to 100lbs.

Note: One pound of food = 1 meal.

Godsey & Gibb matched this goal with a $100 donation to the Food Bank. As $1 means one meal for 5 people, and 1lb means one meal for one person, our food drive and our donation means that we effectively fed 600 people over the holiday season.

During the latter part of 2009, Frank Gibb and Mike Kelly assisted our client to establish and endow a scholarship for a worthy student of the College of Architecture & Urban Studies at Virginia Tech. The scholarship recognizes a student who has shown improvement with their coursework. It was established to honor the memory of her son, who graduated from the College of Architecture in 1984.
